Baleaf has teamed up with OC Designs Online to set up an easy-to-navigate eBay store design for the man in need of superior sports gear. The backdrop of the page is kept in Gainsboro gray. The designers chose mineraloid Jet and pantone orange for the boxes that contain clickable links.
To offset the more colorful clothing items, the backdrops for those boxes have been kept white, which effectively helps to display the product colors. Pictures of cyclists and close-ups of gear make the top of the page very attractive.
At the top of the page is Baleaf’s name and company logo. To the right, there is the store’s satisfaction guarantee and a search box that enables shoppers to sort the inventory by keyword. Right below this information, there is the first horizontal grouping of clickable links. Online buyers have the option of returning to the home page, learning about Baleaf, peeking at hot-selling gear and viewing all listings. This is also the place where would-be buyers can check the store’s feedback, read up on policies and contact the operators.
An orange field now advertises the advantages of shopping with Baleaf. Buyers learn about the free shipping policy, the low prices, quality products and excellent service to which the store is committed. The center of the eBay store design features a high-quality photo of a bike and its rider. A welcome message overlays the photo and further drives home the advantages of doing business with this eBay store. To the left is a vertical menu of store categories that include goggles, cycling, accessories and swimwear.
Clicking on these options opens up a drop-down menu of additional product choices, which helps buyers to narrow down their selections. Right below this menu, the shopper has the opportunity to sign up for the store’s newsletter.
The next section of the store’s design features three large photos that repeat the goggles, cycling and accessories shopping categories. To the left, ads remind buyers that shipping is free, returns are hassle free and combined shipping is available. It is in this section that the buyer also learns about the possibility of international shipping. Next, there come two rows of featured items. Kept in rows of three pictures per section, shoppers peruse Baleaf’s men’s swimwear, cycling gear and sports accessories. “Buy now” buttons allow access to great bargains on the spot.
At the bottom of the page, the Baleaf name and logo are repeated on the right side of the screen, which balances out the top of the page. A row of clickable links repeats the options mentioned in the horizontal bar of clickable links.
